Product Description

Voted as Sound on Sound's NAMM 2012 best microphone, this legendary condenser hardly needs an introduction. Neumann first introduced the U87i as a solid state alternative to the valve equipped U67 in 1967, recently updating the design and name to U87AI for the most recent iteration conceived in 1986.

Harnessing iconic voicing from tripolar FETs, this microphone also boasts modern recording conveniences such as the choice of 3 polar patterns, refined headroom and an SNR of 3dB, a switchable -10dB pad, as well as a switchable high pass filter to lower the impact of the proximity effect.

A professional studios 'go to' microphone, this device has been used on countless studio productions and live applications since its creation. Infinitely applicable due to its dual diaphragm design, this microphone is an ideal choice for orchestral spot recording, vocals and broadcasting.
